Sexual Harassment/Violence

What is Sexual Harassment/Abuse

Unwanted conduct of a sexual nature
Examples of this could be bra strap pulled, unwanted sexualised comments, unwanted sexual images or messages

 

Sexual Violence

Sexual act or attempt to obtain a sexual act by violence or coercion, rape, assault by penetration or sexual assault


Online Sexual Harassment/Abuse

  • Sharing of nude and semi nude images and videos with or without permission
  • Taking and sharing nude photographs of Under 18's is a criminal offence
  • Sharing of unwanted explicit content
  • Upskirting (is a criminal offence)
  • Sexualised online bullying
  • Unwanted sexual comments and messages, including on social media
  • Sexual exploitation; coercion and threats

Consent is key!

  • Consent means 'permission for something to happen or agreement to do something'
  • Just because someone gave consent does not mean you have consent for ever
  • People can change their mind
  • You need consent even if you are in a relationship
