Additional Learning Support : Cognassist

Cognassist

What is Cognassist?

Cognassist is an online assessment tool that helps to identify any learning needs or styles that could be supported. Each apprentice or learner will think and learn differently. By completing the online neurodiversity assessment, Cognassist can help to identify any preferred learning styles and identify any support required, providing lifelong skills to take into the workplace and beyond.

The assessment uses neuroscience and has been developed by neurologists and educational psychologists in order to provide a complete learning picture.

Who Can Access Cognassist?

We offer the Cognassist neurodiversity assessment to all apprentices and adult learners at Lincoln and Newark college.

What Does The Report Mean?

After completing the assessment, an individualised, neurodiversity report is produced with information about the 8 identified domains of the brain used for learning and thinking:

Should a learner be identified as needing support in any of the domains, then individualised support will be provided to the learner throughout the duration of their course, which will help with study skills, work and personal life.

If no support needs are identified, then the report will still offer insights into learning preferences, so will still benefit long term progression.
